Boho Meets Glam Maxi Dress

Outfit Details: LuLu*s Tropical Print Maxi Dress, JCrew Slide Sandals (more fun styles here),  H&M Metallic Waist Belt, Mint Market Necklace

If there's one thing I'm a sucker for this time of year, it's floral print. After spending the past few months in chunky sweaters, plaids, and faux fur vests, it feels so good to slip into something fun, lightweight, and carefree. I do have to admit that I tend to let my boho free spirit shine through in the spring and summer. I enjoy layering patterns and fun details that give an overall earthy feel. I love this maxi dress because it marries just the right amount of floral and tropical print. Top the outfit off with soft metallics and viola, boho meets glam.

I took these photos before our last night in Florida. We spent the evening outside sipping on fruity cocktails alongside the harbor and watching yachts sail by. It was the perfect night and each time I visit Florida I wish more and more that we could move there...some day much sooner than later. I have a lot of convincing to do to my fiance ;).

Hope you all enjoy the gorgeous sunshine today!

Living In Color

Outfit Details: Pink Slate Boutique Living in Color Shorts & Neon Orange Braided Tassel Necklace, Steve Madden Sandals (love this pair), Topshop Jersey Tee, Nordstrom Sunglasses

Monday, we meet again! I spent the past week enjoying sunny Florida with my fiance (Rob) and his best friends. We started our mini vacation off in Captiva for one of Rob's best friend's wedding, which was absolutely beautiful, and then headed south to spend more time together in Fort Lauderdale. We both love how calm and quiet the beaches are in this part of Florida. It's almost as if no one is around, and that's exactly the type of vacation we needed after spending 7 straight months in NYC. I also tried to stay off of my phone and social media and I have to admit, it's a lifestyle that I could get used to ;).

A general rule of thumb that I standby when packing is to select mostly neutral shades. After I have the basics packed, I add in a few eye-catching pieces, like these high-waisted shorts from Pink Slate Boutique. I actually wore these shorts during the day at the beach with a white fringey top and then re-used them later in the week for a fun evening look. The mixed neon print screams beach to me!

Hope you all have a pain free Monday and a speedy week!

Dusty Rose

Outfit Details: Nordstrom Lace Trench Coat (Free People version), Madewell Dress (also love this and this), Rocksbox Necklace, JCrew Flats (replica version on sale here), UrbanStems Flowers

In many ways, dusty rose will be the color of this spring season. It's a hue that looks great on everyone. Even if your style is more edgy than feminine, you can still rock this trendy shade by pairing it with sporty accessories. I built this outfit off of a long-sleeved Madewell dress and layered over an off-white lace trench coat. It's super girly and to keep the colors on a neutral level I added a pair of metallic flats. Which, side note, metallics are having a major moment this spring. Almost every retailer is pushing some version of metallic loafers or flats in gold and silver. I'm currently digging the trend and there's plenty of affordable ways for you to get in on the fun too. Check out these Elysia Metallic Ballet flats from Lucky. I love this pair because the shade of gold is very soft and they remind me of the exact flats I'm wearing in the above photos.

Now that we've decided pastels and metallics are here to stay for this spring, let's talk about the fresh blooms in these pictures. Shall we? Perhaps it's the country girl in me, or my love affair with Parisian culture, but topping off my day with a fresh bouquet of flowers is something that makes my heart happy. Last weekend, I received this beautiful seasonal bouquet from UrbanStems. If you're like me and never heard of UrbanStems let me explain...they are a same day flower delivery service in NYC and DC that believes in simple pricing. All bouquets are ready to order and they can arrive within two hours (sometimes even less)! This service makes it easy for anyone to order a gift for a loved one for a special celebration, or even for those random moments when you just want to make someone smile.

If you're feeling like you (or a friend) could use a stylish home update, try adding a colorful bouquet to your kitchen or living area. You'd be surprised at how lively your whole place will feel. To learn more about UrbanStems check out their online shop or visit their instagram for some bloom inspiration.

Flower Power With Belle on Fifth

Outfit Details: Belle on Fifth In Bloom Tee (c/o), Topshop Distressed Skinny Jeans, BP Nordstrom Flats (similar here), Zara Handbag (similar), Sheinside Sunglasses, Rocksbox Bracelet and Ring

Since it's officially spring and the buds are finally making an appearance on the trees, what better way to celebrate than with a bloomin' tee? I scored this top from Belle on Fifth's online site which recently just launched in March. If there's one clothing item I could live in, it would be a floral printed top. I have at least ten tops in varying shades of pink, blue, and green that all emulate a similar floral pattern and I love them. Even if they sort of look the same...a girl's gotta have options! However, sometimes it's nice to mix it up and be different. This tee offers a fresh spin on the floral trend. I love the oversized daisies evenly patterned throughout the top. It's so ladylike and the contrast of black and white is perfect for any season.

Belle on Fifth offers a variety of trendy alternatives that are chic and affordable. I'm currently crushing on this Azalea Jumpsuit. It's the perfect amount of feminine details mixed with bohemian style. To view the full collection stop by Belle on Fifth's online boutique or their flagship store in Palisades Center Mall (Rockland County, NY). Happy shopping!

Trendy Statement Necklaces For Spring

Rummaging through your closet overwhelmed with, "I have nothing to wear today" thoughts? Well, that's where the hero piece comes in, the statement necklace. There's no denying that the right statement necklace can balance out an otherwise simple outfit or combat wardrobe boredom. Each season I invest in a few new versatile pieces that have longevity and can effectively create multiple looks. I recently scored this blue beaded crystal necklace along with this crystal fan necklace from the Loft. The soft blue hues in each necklace offset by the crystals creates the perfect building block for a springtime outfit. Another way to add the wow factor is by layering on a Bib Necklace. This piece can dress up any corporate button-down or neutral ensemble. So before you splurge on an entire new wardrobe, try updating your accessory collection with a few seasonal necklaces. You'd be surprised at how fresh your outfits will feel.

Below is a glimpse at some of my current favorite pieces. To shop any of the necklaces simply click on the photo and it will bring you directly to the retailer's site. Happy shopping!

Pink Scalloped Dress

You know what they say, it's all in the details. The above scalloped dress from the Loft is just the right amount of feminine and sweet. Scallop hems, trims, and embellishments have been spotted on the street and all over the fashion scene recently, and you're about to see a whole lot more of them this summer. This trend is an easy way to make a subtle statement.

Over the weekend, I was in search for a dress that I could wear to both my friend's bridal shower and work. I typically don't make a purchase unless I can foresee myself getting multiple uses out of the item. I saw online that the Loft was offering 50% off everything, which by the way, this sale is still going on today! Naturally I raided the entire store and bought mostly...everything (insert monkey over hands emoticon face). I couldn't help myself!

With the warmer seasons just around the corner, you'll want to have a few key pieces in your wardrobe that you can turn to for quick and easy styling. From the beach, to dinner dates with friends, to a low key cocktail event, this dress can take you there. If you are in need of stocking up on dresses, accessories, and shoes, then head over to the Loft and check out some of their spring styles. Happy shopping!
