Jeans. T-Shirt. Topknot.

In a New York minute. Have you ever experienced or been told about the fast-paced lifestyle that exists in Manhattan? In a very short amount of time you are expected to work, eat, walk (but really run), travel, and occasionally...breathe. I am completely wrapped up in this routine 95% of my life. It feels so normal to me, but when I travel back home I'm always reminded at how not-normal this life is. At this point in time, I'm happy to say that I prefer it this way. I enjoy being completely surrounded at every single moment with passion, love, and ambition. That's all that exists here. Oh, and just a wee bit of craziness.

I'm always in need of finding more efficient ways to live my life because of this go-go-go lifestyle. Discovering new products that combine fashion and comfort is a priority to me. I may wear heels or wedges to work or events, but you better believe I don't walk around all day in them! My little secret is to pack a pair of comfortable shoes in a tote bag that I can store away for a later time, or even bring out with me and check it at the door. When I laid eyes on this uniform tote from the Atelier Shop's Summer in the City collection, I immediately knew I needed to have it for my daily NYC routine. I love the chic slogan, "Jeans. T-Shirt. Topknot," because how true is this statement? It's the perfect combination of style and comfort.

The Atelier shop carries plenty of items beyond adorable tote bags. Their luxe collection includes stationary, dainty jewelry, and beautiful art. I'm pretty sure every fashionista needs this stationary for her desk. If you are interested in learning more about The Atelier give them a follow on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Their social pages feature post after post of stylish inspiration that will not disappoint. Hope you enjoyed discovering this little gem just as much as I did.

It Was All Yellow

Outfit Details: Pink Slate Boutique Brighten Someone's Day Dress, Fashion Maven Necklace, & Earrings, Lauren Merken Handbag (similar), Dune London Sandals (similar), Emma Sunglasses (they are finally back in stock!)

My week long vacation has come to a close and I have to admit, I am bummed about it! Each day flew by faster than the last. I barely had time to put on make-up or do my hair. Which, for once in my life, I was happy about. Sometimes it's nice to just kick back, relax, and not worry about a thing. We spent most of our time on the beach enjoying the sun. It was such a treat to be all together with my family and extended family too. If you follow along on snapchat (@jgalfo) then I'm sure you caught a glimpse into the Galfo family fun.

In lieu of my post-vacation blues, I felt the need to spotlight something cheery and bright today. How fun is this neon yellow dress from Pink Slate boutique? It features a beautiful white lace overlay and a shift-like silhouette. I love how the color pops when paired with this bold statement necklace and earrings. It's such a fun piece for the summer and would even look super chic belted with a denim jacket on top.

Hope this looks brightens up your Monday. Cheers to a speedy week.

P.S. My absolute favorite oversized sunglasses (pictured above) are finally back in stock and you can shop them here!

Floral Wrap Dress

Photos by Alexandra Wolf

Outfit Details: June & Hudson Floral Print Wrap Dress, Jord Wood Watch, Steve Madden Sandals (similar), House of Harlow Arrow Ring via Rocksbox, Dear Hannah of Hoboken Clutch

If you haven't already heard, Nordstrom's anniversary sale is currently taking place. I've been on a hunt to find the perfect sleeveless turtleneck dress and I finally found one this past weekend. The dress features a chic a-line silhouette and stretchy jersey knit fabric. With the anniversary discount, I saved over $20. Total style steal. I must have spent over 3 hours browsing the women's department, but thankfully I didn't leave empty-handed.

I also stumbled upon this June & Hudson floral wrap print dress. I love the soft wispy feel to it and the watercolor blooms. Indulging in a wrap dress for the summer season is one of the best decisions a gal can make. Why? Along with the stretchy waistband comes the soft fabric that drapes a woman's body perfectly. It's multi-functional and works well for just about any occasion. Plus, the billowy fabric allows for the ultimate dance party in the middle of NYC streets. Don't we all love to stop traffic and show off our outfits every once and awhile ;)? While this dress is not included in the anniversary sale, I've linked several dresses in the scroll below that are discounted and totally worth jumping on. Click the images directly to shop each look.

Happy shopping!

Nautical Stripes

Outfit Details: Boy Meets Girl Top (shop their collection here), Charlotte Russe Skirt (similar), Dear Hannah of Hoboken Clutch, Aldo Sandals (also love this pair)

Super preppy styles always seem to float my boat. I love girly skirts, printed tops, and any item that offers structure. When it comes to summer, I'm all about incorporating nautical-inspired pieces into my wardrobe. Whether it's a striped tee, like this Boy Meets Girl (BMG) top, or a dainty anchor necklace, the nautical trend always feels fresh and easy for this time of year.

My secret recipe for nailing the nautical style is as simple as incorporating navy, white, stripes...and perhaps more white into your outfit. The white helps pull the whole look together, but there's no denying that the stripes draw the attention. Considering white jeans and stripes have become the "norm" nautical combo, I challenge you to step outside the box and give the trend an updated spin. Reach for something that stands out based on the print, fabric, or physical cut. The BMG top I styled above features two faint silhouettes in the background. I love how the colors pop in a subtle way, yet still gives the overall summery/nautical feel. A simple update always goes a long way!

If you follow me on instagram then you probably already know that I'm co-hosting a mega giveaway for Boy Meet's Girl! The prize consists of two complete Boy Meets Girl outfits & jewelry, and two $250 Nordstrom Gift Cards for you and your BFF. Head over today to place your entry because the giveaway ends tomorrow (7/17). Good luck!

Strapless Jumpsuit

Outfit Details: Charlotte Russe Strapless Jumpsuit, Gucci Soho Leather Handbag, Aaraa Tassel Necklaces, Aqua Bracelet (love this one too), Vince Camuto Sandals

Looking to make a style statement? Swap your LBD for a jumpsuit. Jumpsuits are not only extremely versatile, but flattering for all body types. Many jumpsuits have a natural waistline and if you are nervous about drawing attention to your mid-section, avoid anything too tight. Instead opt for a style with wider pants. It will help provide some length to your body.

I chose to take some time off from my traditional boho-summer dresses, because let's be honest, it's fun to experiment with your look in the summertime. This strapless jumpsuit from Charlotte Russe offers just the right amount of sophistication. I love the slim-fit throughout the bodice and sleek neckline with a-symmetrical panels. It strikes the perfect balance between casual and dressy. For only $35, I consider it a style steal!

How do you mix up your look in the summer?
