NEUTRAL HUES

Outfit Details: Jessica Simpson Carmody Heels, Forever21 Oversized Jacket (similar also love this one), Madewell Jeans, Aldo Clutch (similar here and here), Aaraa Accessories Tassel Necklace, Dear Hannah Circle Scarf, Prada SunglassesClickless Heel Protector

It's back to the basics today, and by that I mean back to neutrals. Every woman's wardrobe should be built off of black, grey, white, and different shades of brown. What's the craze over neutrals you ask? For starters, they are extremely versatile and trend-proof. A neutral hue is considered any tone that can blend well with other colors. You can wear them year-round and they create an easy canvas to build an outfit with. In my opinion, you should put the bulk of your clothing budget into neutrals and then carefully select additional colors and seasonal patterns. The end result? A closet full of pieces that will last you a long time.

I'm currently in "style stock" mode for next season and I have been surfing the web for a few fun updates. I stumbled upon these dressy Jessica Simpson pumps over on Amazon and once I laid eyes on the taupe color I knew I had to have them. The color is universal and can be worn through any season. I cannot wait to wear them in the summer paired with a romper or sundress.

Each time I buy a new pair of heels I typically invest in a sole protector or insert. Anything I can do to extend the life of my shoes- I do it! That's where Clickless heel protectors come in. Clickless protectors are small simple caps that slide onto the bottom of your heel to prolong the life of your heel and prevent them from clicking (that annoying sound we all can't stand). They are available in 3 different tones and 4 sizes. Scroll below to see a close-up of the Clickless cap. They blend in so well, you can barely see them. I wish I knew about them sooner because it would have saved so many pairs of heels from being destroyed.
To learn more about Clickless stop by their online shop and don't forget to give them a follow on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

A Fur-eezing Week Of Fashion

Outfit Details: My Diary Black Clutch By Skinny Bags (c/o), Sole Society Booties (similar here and here), H&M Patterned Pants (love these), Dear Hannah Faux Fur Jacket (similar also love this one on sale), Ray Ban Aviators, Aaraa Accessories Cross Ring

I stepped out into what looked like a snow globe on Saturday afternoon. At first I was hesitant to take pictures in the snow. I wasn't sure if the lighting was going to cooperate, but it actually ended up setting the tone for an ultra soft shoot. After a few minutes outside snow started piling up so we had to finish the next day. Hence why the photos about halfway down look drastically different, and perhaps a little more sunny. After a busy week of NYFW events, I was so excited to spend a majority of this weekend inside snuggled up on my couch.

I always feel super inspired this time of year because of fashion week, but this season it was really difficult to dress warm and feel somewhat fashionable. It was 1 degree last weekend and when the wind blew it felt -12 degrees. What does one wear during this weather...besides a snowsuit?! You pile on lots of fur (or faux fur in my case) and double up on pants. That's what you do. Yes, I really wore two pairs of pants to a fashion show last week and prayed my legs didn't fall off from hypothermia!

All cold weather jokes aside, I wore the exact outfit above to Reem Acra's runway show last Monday night. It was the perfect amount of leather and faux fur sass. If you are looking to create an eye-catching outfit, try adding an edgy accessory like this Dear Diary clutch from Skinny Bags. It's most definitely buzz-worthy and trust me, the street style photographers will love it!

Make sure to follow Skinny Bags on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook for more style inspiration.

Stripes For Winter

Outfit Details: Zara Turtle Neck (similar here, here, and here), Express Skirt (available in a ton of colors), Jeffrey Campbell Heels (similar), Miss Selfridge Clutch (also love this one), RocksBox Necklace & Ring

I think it's safe to say everyone here on the east coast is completely sick of winter. We are not-so-patiently counting down the days until spring. The temps have been below zero for the past few days. Can you blame us? Side note, I took these photos before a snowstorm on Saturday. It was actually above 30 degrees and I was feeling daring (mostly because I didn't wear any stockings. I am so tired of tights)! When the weather is blah, our outfits have a tendency to feel the same way. To give you some wardrobe inspiration, I put together one of my favorite winter looks...stripes and a full skirt! I love this combo for many reasons in the winter, but mostly because it's attention-grabbing and brazen. You can wear stripes in the form of sweaters, skirts, dresses, or even an infinity scarf. It's a great way to inject a little excitement into an everyday outfit.

Another great way to add personality to your wardrobe is by mixing in unique jewelry pieces. The statement necklace and midi ring that I am wearing above is actually from RocksBox, a subscription-based jewelry rental service. At $19 per month, you can receive 3 pieces of modern jewelry that is trendy and straight from the designers. You can wear the pieces wherever you like, to the office, on a date, or even to special events. The best part? When you are ready to try a new look you simply send back the 3 items and the RocksBox stylists will select a whole new set of pieces for you! If you fall in love with a piece, you have the option of buying it at an exclusive member price. Talk about a great way to add some variety to your wardrobe! If you are interested in signing up you can use code getdressedbyjessxoxo for a custom discount.

How do you mix up your outfits in the winter? Would love to hear from you in the comments below.

Spread The Love With Kleinfeld

Photography By Sasha

Last week I had the pleasure of touring the accessories department over at Kleinfeld bridal. After taking a quick peek into the showroom with all of the swoon-worthy wedding gowns, I headed downstairs to browse the designer shoe boutique along with all of the jewelry. I didn't want to spoil the wedding shopping fun by looking at some of the gowns, but how can you step foot into Kleinfeld and not see the dresses?! It's almost every bride's dream to visit Kleinfeld at least once during their wedding journey, which is why I was so excited to attend this event. The staff is super supportive and friendly, and I was delighted to find pieces that are affordable.

Whether you are shopping for your own wedding or for a special event, Kleinfeld has an entire accessories collection that everyone can enjoy. From clutches to dressy statement jewelry, most of their pieces can be worn even years after your special event. If you're going to make an investment in jewelry for your wedding, you might as well choose timeless pieces.

Below you will find a few of my favorite pieces {not included is a gorgeous headpiece full of beading and lace}. The Pnina Tornai Love necklace that I am holding in the last picture makes a perfect gift for a friend, family member, bridesmaid, or even yourself!

Huge thank you to Kleinfeld and Melissa from Missy On Madison for inviting me along for an evening for of glitz, glam, and fun!

5 Things I've Learned Since Getting Engaged

Wedding planning is officially in full swing and I decided I would share updates on my blog from time to time. If you have been following along on Instagram then you probably already know that my fiance and I have been touring venues since early November in search of the perfect fit. I'll have you know we have seen 13 venues to date. That said, if you need an expert in the tri-state area, you know who to call!
In no particular order, here's 5 Things I've Learned Since Getting Engaged:
  1. Try not to sweat the small stuff. If it's meant to be, it will be.
  2. When things get stressful, take a step back from it all. Have a cocktail, and most importantly ask for planning help! Your family and close friends will be happy to lend a helping hand.
  3. Pinterest will become your best friend, but just remember it's for inspirational purposes. Don't get too carried away. There's Pinterest and then there's reality.
  4. It's important to talk about your budget and guest list first. You will need to approach your vendors with a guest count in mind. So be sure you and your fiance already decide on these details.
  5. You are going to get an overwhelming amount of advice from absolutely everyone. Possibly even strangers on the street. Be kind to the people who want to share their thoughts, but remember you don't have to take their advice mentioned.
And now, the fun stuff. Scroll below to see some of the images that have been inspiring me lately as we plan. This truly is such an exciting process. Remember what it's all for at the end of the day.
All photos above have been sourced from my Pinterest board. You can find the original photos and credits here.
