Valentine's Day Inspired

Valentine's Day is a few weeks away and now is the perfect time to prep for your outfit. Whether you are planning a fun girl's night out or an intimate date with your significant other, there's always an excuse to dress up for it. My tradition with Rob is quite simple. Every year we treat Valentine's Day as the ultimate date night. We choose a new restaurant that we have been dying to try and then we plan the rest of our day around those reservations. It's really that effortless and more so about enjoying each other's company and sipping delicious cocktails. Of course, a surprise bundle of roses doesn't hurt either (hint hint)!

As you can tell, I definitely don't hold back my vday spirit when it comes to my attire. I typically wear red or pink, but when I laid eyes on this heart print blouse a few days ago I immediately snatched it up with our date in mind. I'm a sucker for bold designs and the playful all-over heart print is super adorable. There is a limited amount of this exact top left in stock so if you are interested in purchasing- act quickly! I've also linked a few more favorites below. Happy shopping!

Shearling Darling

Outfit Details: Loft Shearling Vest (very similar vest here and on sale), Madewell Pullover SweaterSkinny Jeans and Layering Necklaces, DSW booties (similar), Kate Spade Handbag, Ray Ban Aviators

This comfy shearling vest has gotten it's fair share of usage this winter from me. I've even gone as far as layering it over a thick pullover sweater. We've been experiencing a typical New York winter with gusty winds that result in negative temps, so I have been living in cozy knits. What I love the most about shearling vests is their ability to add texture and dimension to an everyday look. They are just as warm as they look and if you don't already own one, what are you waiting for?!

Shop the full outfit below along with a few other hand-picked shearling vests that I love. Happy shopping!

Polka Dot LBD

Outfit Details: Few Moda Polka Dot Dress (also love this dress) c/o, Miss Selfridge Jacket (similar), Kate Spade Colorblock Crossbody Bag

In my opinion every woman should have a handful of little black dresses hanging in her closet. I have a few, but when I saw this little black dress from Few Moda I knew I needed to add it to my collection. From the sheer polka dot neckline to the edgy-meets-modern sleeves, this dress has all the pretty little details to make you feel special. I wore it out to dinner with Rob recently and kept the accessories simple. When there are intricate details on a dress I like to let them do the talking.

It's hard to believe that Valentine's day is just around the corner. If you are on the hunt for a fancy date night dress you may want to consider browsing Few Moda's new collection for trendy and affordable pieces. The polka dot dress is unfortunately sold out, but if you're still interested in updating your LBD you will swoon over this cove sheer dress. I promise!

Cheers to a speedy week. Stay warm!

Bold Plaid & Winter White

Outfit Details: Topshop Long Plaid Coat (other options here and here), Madewell Jeans (check out their full denim bar here), JCrew Crop Sweater, Jeffrey Campbell Wedged Heels (similar), Ray Ban Aviators

I've been looking for a long wool coat since the beginning of November and finally found the perfect one when I stopped into topshop in soho this past weekend. This coat is available in neutral colors as well, but I have enough black and grey coats in my wardrobe and felt adding a pop of plaid was necessary. I love the self-tie belt that allows for a quick and easy cinch at the waist. Typically I feel lost in longline coats because I am on the shorter side, but the belt makes all the difference. For a chic daytime look I paired with my favorite Jeffrey Campbell wedges, but admittedly I'll get the most use out of this coat while supporting my quilted vans.

|| Here are a few other plaid coats I'm coveting. Happy Monday! ||

Cozy Neutrals

My winter wardrobe consists of cozy neutrals like this textured white sweater and grey floppy hat from Pink Slate Boutique. I tend to stock up on lots of winter accessories this time of year. Most people start shopping early fall for winter gear but I just can't bring myself to do it. I cling onto every last bit of warm weather that I can. When the cold temps arrive, I'm in complete denial and then eventually cave in to purchase warm gloves and hats.

If you're on the hunt for comfy winter essentials as well, then I bet you'll have some fun browsing through the below. By the way, I'm totally drooling over this shearling and suede vest. Isn't it stunning? Happy shopping!

Criss Cross

Outfit Details: Sheinside Grey Lapel Long Sleeve Coat and Black Caged Bodysuit (c/o), Madewell Skinny Jeans (check out their denim bar here), Small Black Handbag, Sole Society Booties

Happy New Year! It's a fresh start, clean slate, and a chance to set new personal goals. I am most certainly not a life coach, but I do encourage setting a few new year resolutions for yourself. I'm not the type to make a list of my goals because I would end up throwing the paper away or losing it, ha! Instead, I treat this month as a time to mentally reflect and re-develop. I wish I could say eating healthier is a resolution of mine, but unfortunately I tried that last year and I am too addicted to chocolate and chips (separate, not together of course)! I learned a lot about myself this past year and took note of the things along the way that I wanted to work on.

Aside from personal goals, I am experimenting with new necklines and perhaps wardrobe pieces that I wouldn't otherwise turn to. I love the criss cross detailing on this black caged bodysuit from Sheinside. The bodysuit does come with long sleeves, but the winter temps are catching up to us here in the tri-state so unfortunately outerwear is now a necessity. Thankfully this grey lapel coat is super sleek and not bulky! The feminine side of me wanted to pair the bodysuit with a fit and flare midi skirt, but I wanted to test out my new high-waisted skinnies on Saturday and felt this was the perfect combo!

Time to get back to the grind. Wishing you a speedy and painless Monday.
