Southern Belle - The Cotton Dock

Outfit Details: Eliza J Lace Overlay Fit and Flare Dress, Aldo Heels (similar Steve Madden), Anthropologie Clutch & Hat

I am obsessed with figure-flattering dresses and lacey details. This little white fit and flare dress from Eliza J was worn on my trip to Boone Hall. I felt like a true Southern belle strolling through the grounds with Ava Moore Photography. I have honestly stocked up on so many little white dresses this season for my wedding, but I'm okay with it because there's no denying that LWD's are the ultimate summer essential. Am I right?

Unexpected details always win me over and Eliza J continues to kill it with their beautiful selection of dresses. You can find Eliza J's full collection at Nordstrom- p.s. they are just about to kick-off their annual anniversary sale. Now is a great time to browse their latest styles. For more inspiration scroll through some of my favorites below. Happy shopping!

Striped Knit Blazer

Outfit Details: Anthropologie Striped Knit Blazer, Madewell Turtleneck Sweater (similar) and High Riser Skinny Jeans, BP Trolley Ankle Bootie, Zara (similar) Small Handbag

Monday we meet again. This weekend flew by, didn't it? I was super busy with family events back home. I really feel like I blinked and I'm right back at the Monday-Friday routine again, le sigh. On the bright side, I managed to clean out a part of my closet. I'm trying so hard to organize my tiny space and rejuvenate my wardrobe. It's no small task! It also doesn't help that I continue to shop for new pieces without properly organizing first (whoops). I recently picked up this striped knit blazer from Anthropologie and I've been wearing it on the reg. I love that it has a slightly oversized fit. This blazer in particular pairs so well with super skinny jeans.

In my opinion, every gal needs a handful of power blazers in her closet- aka blazers that can be dressed up for important meetings or dressed down for drinks with friends. If you're like me and frequently reach for neutrals, then you will love the blazers I recently added to my favorites list below.

Happy shopping and enjoy your week!

Lady In Red

Outfit Details: Laila Shirtdress, Surlia Over The Knee Boots (dream pair and more affordable pair here), Jord Wood Watch, Anthropologie Short Brim Hat (similar), Faux Fur Vest

Happy Monday! Out of all of the long sleeve dresses I purchased this winter, this one is my favorite. I've already worn it to a work event and date night with Rob. It's one of those dresses that makes you look and feel instantly put together. Perhaps that's due to the cinched waist and built-in belt. I paired it with my over the knee boots which are a true alternative to the Stuart Weitzman pair that I absolutely swoon over. These heels are surprisingly comfortable and don't hurt the arches of my feet like some boots do.

I love wearing this dress with the belt, but also without for a more loose fitting look. The long sleeves are perfect for the current NYC weather. All this outfit needs is some simple layering and accessories to take you from desk to cocktails (and perhaps a change of shoes)! Cheers to a speedy week.

Aisle Style: Starting New Traditions

Outfit Details: Anthropologie Laced Funnelneck Pullover, Pink Slate Boutique Blanket Scarf (c/o), Madewell Jeans, BP Trolley Ankle Booties. On Rob: H&M Sweater, Express Jeans, Steve Madden Shoes

I'm back on Style Me Pretty today talking about starting new holiday traditions as an engaged couple. I've been not-so-patiently waiting to share these photos from our mini Christmas shoot. Rob and I took a trip down to a local farm near his hometown to capture some Mistletoe moments with the fabulous Jessa of Love & Light Photographs in hopes to inspire you to 1- get cute and cozy this holiday season and 2- celebrate old traditions and create new ones. Whether you're engaged, married, or in a serious relationship, there's always room to carve out some time together and make new memories.

Read all the details about our traditions and see more photos over on Style Me Pretty today. In case you missed the first two posts you can check them out here (engagement photos) and here (how I asked my bridesmaids).

Summer Outfit Layering

Today's look is all about layering patterns and fun details to exude an overall summery feel. Typically I would recommend starting with a slip dress and topping it off with beaded jewelry, but this time of year gets very humid and it's usually too hot to bother with chunky jewelry. What I love the most about this dress from Anthropolgoie is all the fine details. From top to bottom and front to back, the intricate designs feel laid-back, yet fashion-forward all at the same time. For this reason, you do not need to layer jewelry over the outfit. You can simply pull your hair back and give the look some personality with a statement earring, like these jeweled drop earrings from Pink Slate Boutique!

I wore this dress a few weeks ago when I took a trip to Holly Crest Farm in Locust, NJ. Holly Crest Farm is a 37-acre thoroughbred breeding farm and their broodmares have about 8-10 foals each season that go on to racing careers at Monmouth Park and New York race tracks. I can't get over how beautiful these animals are, they are so full of strength. Their muscles are huge! And let's not forget about the adorable babies. At just two months old, they were nearly my height! I'm hoping to share a picture of the smallest baby on my instagram later this week. It was a 90 degree day and super sticky. Don't judge me for wearing a girly outfit to a farm. I was comfortable the entire time, because this dress is heavenly!! I did, however, change my outfit before going into the field with the babies for obvious reason (i.e. they are super hyper and like to occasionally nuzzle).

Hope everyone has a very happy, healthy, and safe July 4th weekend. I'll be back next week with more outfit inspiration.

Jess
