Make Friends With Stripes

No matter your body type, stripes help to balance and even out problematic areas (i.e. your midsection, belly and thighs). Opt for thick bands of black off-set by another shade. The black-blocking will help to draw attention away from your stomach, and it creates the illusion of a slim center. Pair with a solid colored top and bright sandals to create a pop of interest.

What I love the most about this black and white mini-skirt from Pink Slate Boutique, is the ability to re-style it against another print (think polka dots or tribal). You can layer the look up with a chambray top or go big and bold and pair with another stripe print. Checkout how Courtney Kerr mastered the stripe-on-stripe look in the below "Jail Bait" feature. The stripes are neutral enough to be worn with just about anything!
