The Perfect Party Dress

Outfit Details: LuLu*s Ivory and Black Shift Dress, Fringe-tastic Earrings, and Studded Black Purse (c/o), Francesca's Belt (similar), Jeffrey Campbell Shoes (similar), Madewell Pave Spike Necklace

This week on the blog it's all about dressing up for your holiday parties. Earlier in the week I talked about the ideal party pants, and today I am sharing one of my favorite party dresses in collaboration with LuLu*s. As you might already know, I am a big fan of dressing festive and hunting for the perfect dress. Luckily, LuLu*s makes holiday dress shopping easy and budget friendly; you can shop for Christmas, New Year's Eve, cocktail parties, a fun girl's night out, and even bridesmaids dresses. Whatever the occasion, it's all there!

When shopping for holiday outfits, opt for patterns and bold details. You don't have to stick to christmas-y colors like green and red. Instead, try finding a dress that you can get some mileage out of. This black and white shift dress featured above is a flattering style for all body types, plus the colors are neutral and it can be re-styled for any season.

Dressing slim tips: Forget about gym classes and eating healthy. This time of year is filled with too many treats and goodies to fret about the scale. If you are looking to instantly slim your appearance try reaching for fabric that will "keep the eye moving"- think metallic fibers, tweed, a bold print...etc. You can also distract the eye with a sparkly necklace or statement earrings. I personally love how chic these long fringe earrings look with a side swept pony. They also scream holiday glam!

I hope these tips make you feel incredible for your special occasions. Don't forget to stop by lulus.com and check out their #partyPerfect dress shop. You can also join in on the fun on instagram by uploading your chic holiday style and hashtag the photo #LuLusPartyPerfect. If you are in need of outfit advice feel free to send me an email or ask away in the comments below.

Happy Holidays!

Fall Brunch Outfit Ideas

The Coast To Coast Style Series is back! This week, AlinaJohnnalynn and I are highlighting one of my favorite weekend activities...brunch! Give a girl a glass of champagne, and she's ready to celebrate the weekend in style. If you're attending a Sunday brunch and it's still early in the season, it's likely you will be dining outside at a sidewalk cafe. After all, we need to get as much fresh air as we can before the winter comes! To help keep you warm and comfortable, reach for pieces that will block out the slight seasonal breeze. Lately, I've been pairing ripped jeans with this Roll Sleeve Cascade Jacket. It's laid-back, yet classy in all the right ways. To pull together the rest of the look, add a pair of pointed heels and some light layering necklaces.

Figuring out what to wear before meeting your gal-pals can take hours. So, we've got you covered with 3 outfit ideas that will help you stay fly all weekend long. For more style inspiration, be sure to stop by Style By Alina and StushiGal Style. Keep scrolling for a fun little announcement from the Mavatar team!

Meet "Prints" Charming: The Oversized Scarf

Outfit Details: Target Drop Shoulder Crop Top, H&M Leather Skirt & Sunglasses, Nine West Flats (similar here and here), Dear Hannah Bag, Aaraa of Hoboken Scarf

It's that time of the year again...bring out the faux leather skirts and oversized scarves! Whether you are out running errands or off to a brunch in the city with friends, your favorite scarf should tag along for the fun. When styling a printed scarf, I like to keep the core of my outfit pretty simple. I reach for contrasting pieces, but nothing too distracting. This faux leather skirt and drop-shoulder crop top was screaming for a little color boost, and this Aaraa scarf adds a dose of personality. It truly brings the look to life.

I must admit, I have a tinnnnny obsession with collecting scarves (you should see my closet). To me, each scarf tells a story. They are often the last piece layered onto an outfit, but they are always the loudest accessory. Each time I visit a new city, I always make it my mission to find a new pretty scarf. They can transform your entire outfit. Plus, what better way to keep warm in the winter?!

P.S. The NJFABB Shopping event is THIS Saturday, October 4th, in Jersey City at 2pm! It's going to be a fun afternoon of shopping, cocktails, giveaways, mini makeovers...and much more! You can get more details by clicking here, and don't forget to RSVP ;). Hope to see you there!

Outfit Details: Charlotte Russe Crop Tee & Skater Skirt (similar here) c/o, BCBGeneration Hat & Heels (similar style here), Michael Kors Clutch, H&M Moto Jacket, Pink Slate Boutique Bracelet

You don't need to be a millionaire to look chic this fall. The key is to mix pieces to create a dimensional look. You need to put together designer + affordable + vintage clothes. The search for pieces of real value requires plenty of time and a good eye. Since I love to deal hunt, I decided to put together a fun collection with Mavatar to help save you time...and money!

Early fall transitional pieces include a sleek moto jacket, cupcake skirts, cozy accessories, cropped tees and sweaters. Mixing edgy pieces, like the moto jacket, with soft basics feels super fresh for fall. The pieces you will find in the below collection have been inspired by this outfit. I just can't get enough of this Charlotte Russe skater skirt and fitted jersey jacket from H&M! It's a style thats suitable for every body type and budget.

The Trumpet Sleeve

Photography by AnyaFoto
Looking to add a little flare to your style? One of my favorite trends for this upcoming fall season is the trumpet sleeve, or more commonly known as the bell sleeve. Talk about a serious throwback to the 1970's! What exactly is a trumpet sleeve? The trumpet sleeve is a sleeve that gets increasingly wider from the elbow to the wrist. It adds the perfect amount of drama to any blouse, tunic, sweater or dress. I personally love how this tunic features an extreme flare (similar to that of a '70s bell bottom pant leg).  The sleeves are finished off with little pom-poms. They really make the look magical. I felt so wizardly in it ;).

The trumpet sleeve works well with almost every body type. It's one of the few styles that can be extremely flattering on your arms. What throw back trends will you incorporate into your fall style? As you can tell, the '60s and 70's will be at the core of my fall wardrobe!
